ETHICS COMMISSION IN-PERSON/VIRTUAL HYBRID MEETING PURSUANT TO AB 361 (GOV. CODE SECTION 54953(e)(1)-(2))

REGULAR AGENDA

1. (22-061EC) Recommendation to approve the minutes of the Ethics Commission Regular Meeting on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

2. (22-062EC) Recommendation to receive and file a presentation on the City of Long Beach Immediate Family Disclosure policy.

3. (22-063EC) Recommendation to conduct a study session on the Commission's Disclosure Policy; and, if necessary, adopt resolution amending the Rules and Procedures of the Ethics Commission to include the Disclosure Policy.

4. (22-064EC) Recommendation to receive and file a report from the Chair and Vice Chair on the meeting had with Budget Oversight Committee Chair Austin regarding the Ethics Commission Fiscal Year 2023 Proposed Budget Letter; and receive and file an update on the adopted Fiscal Year 2023 Budget.

5. (22-065EC) Recommendation to request a report back from staff on the authority of other local government ethics commissions, prioritizing commissions in California, including, but not limited to, staffing of other commissions, enforcement capabilities, scope of duties, powers, and responsibilities.

6. (22-066EC) Recommendation to authorize the Chair and Vice Chair to collaborate with staff to identify promotional items and educational materials for the Ethics Program launch and to increase awareness of the Ethics Program.

7. (22-067EC) Recommendation to receive and file a report on the Code of Conduct and Ethics Meet and Confer process; and, if appropriate, recommend the City Council amend and restate Chapter 2.07 of the Long Beach Municipal Code to adopt the Code of Conduct and Ethics as drafted by the Ethics Commission.

8. (22-068EC) Recommendation to receive and file a monthly update from the Ethics Officer.

9. (22-069EC) Recommendation to receive and file a report from the Ad Hoc Committees; and, if necessary, take appropriate action to dissolve or create Ad Hoc Committees.
